Sun Valley Recap
What it taught me about B2B sales

Attended Sun Valley - here’s what it taught me about B2B sales (and AI). Didn’t get my own pic walking in, but was able to find 1 where I’m in the background.
Since last post we’ve seen 5 acquisitions, 10 funding rounds ($949.1M raised), 10 people moves & promotions, 3 roles ($221K average salary), 3 articles, 1 song, and 3 newly added upcoming events.
I’m working with advertisers as it helps fund the creation and maintenance of this newsletter. It is greatly appreciated if you could check out their links and offerings. This week is in partnership with Superhuman AI.

[INSERT] Of The Week
An overview where I highlight an activity from each major section
Deal - GlobalData acquired Stylus, a global trend forecaster as part of its consumer innovation intelligence offering. Stylus was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in London. This is GlobalData’s 6th acquisition in the past 12 months, and is synergistic with the prior acquisition of AI-powered consumer insights platform, Ai Palette. GlobalData is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange (LON: DATA).
Funding Round - Sundial, a San Francisco based AI-powered analytics platform announced it raised a total of $23M, including a $16M Series A led by GreatPoint Ventures Partner DJ Patil. The company provides smart dashboards, analytics, and notebooks all in one platform. Sundial was founded in 2020 by Chandra Narayanan (prior Sequoia Capital, Facebook) and Julie Zhuo (prior Facebook.
People Move - Ben Coupe joined Oxford Data Plan (ODP) as Sales Director. A perk of this newsletter is that I get to highlight the career advancements of some of my former colleagues turned closest friends. Prior to joining ODP, Ben has experience at data-driven research firms including ETR, YipitData, and like me he started his career in the expert network space at AlphaSights where our desks were across from each other. ODP is a data platform providing daily estimates on company KPIs for over 200 listed companies globally. The company recently closed their Series A led by Smedvig Ventures with participation from TX Ventures. Congrats Ben!
Job - Point72 Ventures is hiring an AI Engineer. Point72 Ventures is the private investing side of Point72, one of the most sophisticated and successful hedge funds. Portfolio companies familiar to this audience include Brightwave, DriveWealth, Massive, and ValidMind.
