Buy The Dip?
Or just the tip? (of the iceberg)

Since last post we’ve seen 5 M&A deals, 3 funding rounds, 32 people moves & promotions (we’re gonna need a bigger boat), 4 roles, 6 articles, and 1 newly added upcoming event. Plus, last edition’s top clicked link (congrats Evan!)
The past week was huge for personal publishing milestones. I posted on LinkedIn some words of encouragement to help people out in their career search and pay it forward. It resonated way more than I thought, with over 400 likes and 70,000 impressions. Also posted highlighting the work we’re doing at AggKnowledge. Then Anna Faelton at EY-Parthenon posted the firm’s B2B Data and Information Services Deals Newsletter, with a nice surprise to me that they cited my work alongside Asymmetrix, MergerMarket, Pitchbook, and CapIQ. Lastly, I posted Are You a Software Company or a Data Company (Hint: You’re Not Both) and have been flooded with emails and texts with all sorts of feedback and longer stories of debates that ensued (screenshots below). This is something I had been working on writing for some time, and was not a result of the market dip in info services last week, though one could say that contributed to being my most read newsletter yet.

This week is in partnership with I Hate It Here. I’ve been a huge fan of their newsletter so I was pumped when I saw the potential to advertise here. Check it out and click the links below (it helps keep the free version of this newsletter free).
The best HR advice comes from people who’ve been in the trenches.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
I Hate it Here is your insider’s guide to surviving and thriving in HR, from someone who’s been there. It’s not about theory or buzzwords — it’s about practical, real-world advice for navigating everything from tricky managers to messy policies.
Every newsletter is written by Hebba Youssef — a Chief People Officer who’s seen it all and is here to share what actually works (and what doesn’t). We’re talking real talk, real strategies, and real support — all with a side of humor to keep you sane.
Because HR shouldn’t feel like a thankless job. And you shouldn’t feel alone in it.
